Pizza Base
Equipment
- Kettle
- Measuring jug
- Food mixer with a dough hook fitted
- Clingfilm
Ingredients
- 600g “00” flour
- 300ml water
- 10g salt
- 7g instant dried yeast
Instructions
- Fill the kettle with water and put it on to boil.
- Measure 200ml cold water into the Measuring jug.
- When the kettle has boiled top up the jug to 300ml with boiling water.
- Mix 500g “00” flour with 7g instant dried yeast and 10g salt in the food mixer’s bowl.
- Make a well in the flour by pushing it to the sides of the bowl.
- Pour all of the 300ml water from the jug into the well in the flour.
- Place the bowl onto the food mixer and turn it on low for 2 minutes.
- after 2 minutes turn the speed up to medium for 8 minutes.
- Leaving just the dough inside the bowl, remove it from the food mixer, cover it with clingfilm and place it somewhere warm.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, which will take around 1 to 2 hours, remove it from the bowl and divide into 5 pieces if making 12" pizza bases.
